Peter Mach is a luthier based in the greater Ottawa area. He finished studying violin and bow making in Cremona, Italy in the 1970's and has built, repaired and modified violins, violas, cellos, double basses (and bows) in the Cremonese style from his workshop in
Aylmer / Gatineau since 1980.
He has made instruments for students and stage musicians alike but is most well known for his double basses and his patented shoulder rest for violin
and viola which he
created in 1997.
